Local banker reaches pinnacle of profession

After a long, rigorous course of study, Vicki Chamberlain of Lamar County has achieved a certification held by only 19,438 persons worldwide. Chamberlain has been granted the highly regarded designation of Certified Treasury Profession (CTP) by the Association for Financial Professionals. The program was implemented in 1986.   Chamberlain is the first associate to earn this designation in the 114-year history of her employer, Capital City Bank, which is based in Tallahassee where it was chartered in 1895.   The bank, which survived the Great Depression and numerous economic downturns since, decided not to participate in the Capital Purchase Program, part of the federal government’s Troubled Asset Relief Program.    Capital City Bank has offices in Florida, Georgia and Alabama and enjoys a favorable reputation as a community bank.   Chamberlain serves as assistant vice president of cash management services for Capital City in Georgia and Alabama.   She is married to former Lamar County school superintendent Dennis Chamberlain, who now serves as vice president for student affairs at Gordon College.
