Local business represented at Paris Air Show

Jeffrey Barkes, president of D-Check Developments, Inc. of Lamar County, attended the 50th annual Paris Air Show June 17-23 at the invitation of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Gov. Nathan Deal was among those visiting the D-Check booth, one of four Georgia aviation enterprises present at the show. D-Check featured its Omni Arm landing gear removal and installation equipment. A video loop of the equipment in action ran continuously and drew a lot of attention, according to Barkes. Also visiting the booth was the U.S. Ambassador to France, Charles H. Rivkin. Barkes and his firm’s representative in Asia, Deryck Scott, met with prospects from the USA, Canada, Belgium, Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, Indonesia and Russia. ’We foresee the business contacts expanded at the show to bring growth to our business and jobs to Lamar County,’ Barkes said of the trip.
