A Barnesville man has been charged with DUI and first degree vehicular homicide in connection with a wreck Saturday that killed a 31-year-old motorcyclist from Thomaston. They may not be republished or disseminated in any form – including social media – without explicit permission.*********************According to the Georgia State Patrol, Brian Keith Logan, 26, of Barnesville has been charged with DUI, first degree vehicular homicide, failure to exercise due car, reckless driving and failure to yield. He was denied bond on the vehicular homicide charge and remained in the Upson jail at last report.According to a preliminary report, Smallwood was eastbound on Ga. Hwy. 36. when Logan, who was westbound on Hwy. 36 in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, turned in front of him attempting to enter Trice Cemetery Road. The motorcycle hit the Jeep and Smallwood was thrown from it and killed.The state patrol’s SCRT team is reconstructing the crash.
