Local man not at fault in fatal crash

A Barnesville man was at the wheel of a Mack truck that collided with a compact car January 14 in Forsyth, killing the driver of the smaller car. Julia Colvin, a former worker at the Forsyth Dairy Queen and dog rescue activist, was pulling out of a veterinary office on Hwy. 41 in Toyota Corolla at 2:10 p.m. when she was hit by the truck driven by Ricky Johnson of Barnesville. ”She just kept on coming,” Johnson told the Monroe County Reporter. Johnson said he tried to stop and even threw his truck into reverse. He was not charged. Colvin was cut out of her vehicle and transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon where she died.
