Local singers to perform at Spivey Hall

Area singers are among the members of Griffin Choral Arts who will perform a free concert on Tuesday, April 10 at Spivey Hall on the campus of Clayton State University. The concert, in which GCA singers will join the Clayton State Chorale which is directed by Dr. Shaun Amos, includes works by Vavaldi, Puccini, John Rutter, Rosephanye Powell, Egil Hovland, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen and others. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Griffin Choral Arts is directed by Dr. Stephen Mulder who lives in Barnesville. Other Lamar singers include Gerry Bankston, Charles Dukes, Abigail Morgan, Claire Morgan, John Votaw, Amy Huffer, Susie Whatley and Walter Geiger. Pike County performers include Debby Daniel-Bryant, Alison Kirkland, Bradley Kirkland, Mary Elizabeth Mendenhall, Mark Mendenhall, Emily Rhodes and Betty Bentoski. Additionally, accompanist Cathy Willis works at Dora Cox Realty in Barnesville and is the church organist at First Baptist Church here.
