Local woman killed in Morgan Dairy Road crash

A local woman was killed early Saturday in a one-vehicle crash on Morgan Dairy Road near Cook Road. Kara Allison Holland, 21, was ejected from the vehice and killed. She was the daughter of Frankie and Julie Holland of Frank’s Auto and Towing. Kara was a nursing student at Gordon State College. Two others were hurt in the crash. One of those was also ejected. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Coroner Jim Smith said it appeared the pickup truck ran off one side of the road and the driver overcorrected, swerving into the ditch on the other side of the road where the truck flipped. Smith said the accident occurred at about 3:35 a.m. UPDATE: The other two passengers in the truck were Brian Thompson and Rebecca Chappel, according to reports on social media.
