Lookout for serial bank robber issued

Authorities have identified the man they say robbed the United Bank Northside branch in Griffin January 21. They have issued a lookout and tied the suspect to two additional robberies. Warrants have been issued for 28-year-old Don Wayne Johnston Jr. for robbery by intimidation. He is described as a white male, standing six feet, three inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. Johnston may still be in this area. Those with information regarding his whereabouts are asked to call 911 immediately. Johnston has been linked to a robbery at Piedmont Community Bank in Forsyth and at a Sun Trust branch in Brunswick since the Griffin heist, according to investigator Bryan Clanton of the Griffin Police Department.
