Incumbent District 127 state representative Billy Maddox, who represents a portion of Lamar County and all of Pike County, in the state legislature announced Friday he will not seek reelection. The statement from Maddox follows in its entirety: I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I have decided not to seek re-election to the position of State Representative. It has been my honor and true privilege to serve the citizens of Pike, Upson and Lamar counties for the past 5 years. I will never be able to thank my friends and family enough for their encouragement and support during my time of service. It is now time for me to give my full attention and focus to my family and my growing law practice, Maddox & Harding, LLC.
