Make hot chocolate and Christmas memories downtown Sunday

The City of Barnesville is hosting “Hot Chocolate and Christmas Memories” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 at 101 Plaza Way in front of the Depot.

The event will include cookie decorating, hot chocolate, several photo opportunities, letters to Santa, visits with Santa, coloring activities and other treats. The Empty Stocking Fund will also be accepting new unwrapped toys and donations for children in the community.

“Tasty treats include hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and hotdogs. The first 50 children will receive a free “Little Crumbsnatcher’s” Christmas cookie to decorate. Hot Chocolate by TwoMoo’s Coffee and Creamery will be served. Additionally, the Barnesville Police Department will be serving hotdogs.

There will be lots of opportunities for pictures so don’t forget your camera,” said Niki Sappington. “Santa will be here checking his Naughty or Nice list and there will be a Hot Chocolate Photo Station. Heather Stanley is transforming The Depot Plaza into Barnesville’s Winter Wonderland for the Christmas Season. Activities for children include a “Letters to Santa” and Christmas coloring pages.”

The Lamar County Health Department and Hines Prescription Shop will offer free COVID-19 vaccinations during the event.
