Man arrested after police chase

Law enforcement authorities made one arrest following a high speed chase that ended at the intersection of Thomaston Street and Murphey Avenue in Barnesville Thursday. Quinton Barkley (see image) fled from authorities after they attempted to pull him over on routine traffic charges near Roses. The chase involved Barnesville and Milner police and sheriff’s deputies. Once Barkley’s Ford Ranger was forced to a halt, he fled on foot, allegedly discarding 51 grams of crack cocaine and two bags of marijuana as he ran. Barkley faces traffic charges in addition to counts of drug possession and trafficking. Full booking information in the 3.3.09 print edition of The Herald-Gazette.
