Man arrested after threatening to “take out some Jews”

Griffin police have arrested a Bulldog Drive man after he arrived at the Spalding County courthouse with a gun. Bill Taylor of WKEU is reporting the man, William Alfred McKinley, allegedly told a clerk at the BP Station at 436 N. Expressway, “Jesus is coming today and he was going to take out some Jews”. McKinley then asked for directions to the courthouse. As officers searched for McKinley, he arrived at the courthouse with a weapon and was advised by security there to leave. GPD notified the Domestic Terrorism Unit of Homeland Security and Sgt. John Hays acquired warrants for McKinley for terroristic threats and acts and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime. McKinley was taken into custody at his home without incident. Hays said McKinley’s threats appear to have been sincere and the rapid response was due to a customer at the BP who overheard the alleged threat and notified authorities.
