Man charged with child molestation here arrested in Indiana, extradited

A 20-year-old Lamar County man wanted on multiple sex charges was extradited back to Barnesville from Lebanon, Indiana last week. Dylan Thomas Williams of 204 Chappell Mill Rd. was returned to the Lamar County jail Aug. 5. He is charged with rape, two counts aggravated child molestation, forcible sodomy, a probation violation and two other counts involving two female victims under the age of 13. The case arose in February after one of the victims went to a school counselor about alleged assaults that went on over an extended period of time. SRO Belinda Pennamon and LCSO investigator Chad Payne got involved, forensic interviews were conducted and warrants for Williams were obtained. On March 19, officers from the Lebanon Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service went to a home there after receiving a tip from Williams’ ex-girlfriend. As they approached, Williams left through a back door with a backpack and was detained. He was identified by a distinctive blue tattoo on the left side of his neck. A search of the backpack revealed four white pills, a marijuana grinder, marijuana, a digital scale, a smoking pipe and a Smith & Wesson .380 handgun. Once handcuffed, Williams was taken to a patrol car which he began to head butt. He was charged in Indiana with carrying a handgun without a license, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams is being held here without bond.
