A 23-year-old Yatesville man remains in the Lamar County jail after leading local law enforcement personnel on a high speed chase Feb. 25.Quintin Marques Barkley was finally halted at the intersection of Thomaston Street and Murphey Avenue in Barnesville. He fled from authorities after they attempted to pull him over on routine traffic charges. The chase involved Barnesville and Milner police and sheriff’s deputies.Once Barkley’s Ford Ranger was forced to a halt, he fled on foot, allegedly discarding 51 grams of crack cocaine and two bags of marijuana as he ran.He is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, no turn signal, improper lane change, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
