In a bizarre series of events, a man thought to be local wrecked a Mustang in spectacular fashion, went airborne into a field, left an unconscious female in the mangled vehicle, fled on foot to Liberty Trace and fled in a stolen white 2003 Tahoe bearing the Georgia tag numbered BUY 2075.Dispatchers reported an erratically driven Mustand traveling east on Hwy 36 at a very high rate of speed. Witnesses said the car almost hit one car in the rear and another head-on when passing the first.The car ran off the north side of the highway, went airborne over Liberty Hill Road at the old Tom Weldon home and crashed into a field on the Weldon Farm. The male driver, who may live at 138 Mathews Rd. in Milner, either escaped or was thrown from the car and fled on foot, leaving behind an unconscious female who was transported to Macon Medical Center by ambulance.A manhunt for the driver was launched. He apparently fled on foot to Liberty Trace where he stole the Tahoe which is regsitered to Patrica Brown.At 5:52 p.m., he was still on the run.State troopers and working the wreck. Officers from multiple jurisdictions are involved in the manhunt.The driver was reportedly weaing an orange shirt. If you spot him or the stolen Tahoe, call 911 immediately.
