A Lizella man was killed in a one vehicle accident on March 2, 2013. The accident occurred near 498 Russellville Rd. in Monroe County. Deputies were dispatched around 5:43 a.m. and discovered a black GMC Sonoma pickup truck that had driven off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, Jeffrey Brannen Croft, Jr., age 25, was pronounced dead on the scene. The cause of the accident is unknown and the driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
