A local man was killed and his wife injured in a crash Thursday on Unionville Road.From Allison Selman-Willis, MCSO:A Forsyth man was killed today, October 1, 2015, when the vehicle he was driving overturned on Unionville Road in Monroe County.Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the accident scene around 3:30 p.m. where they found the driver of a green Chevy pickup truck, James Monroe Brookshire, 66, deceased and his passenger, Nina Brookshire (wife), trapped inside the vehicle.Monroe County Fire/EMS extracted the passenger, who was transported to Navicent Medical Center in Macon. James Brookshire, who was ejected from the truck, was pronounced dead on the scene.It appears, from the preliminary investigation, that the truck was traveling south on Unionville Road from High Falls Road, left the roadway on the right shoulder, struck a culvert then overturned. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and the accident is still under investigation.
