Man lifeflighted after Monday night shooting

A man was lifeflighted to an Atlanta hospital after a Monday night shooting From our news partners at WKEU: Monday night about 8:40 units of the Griffin Police Department, Griffin Fire Rescue, Spalding Regional EMS, and Emory Air Flight responded to East Central Avenue and North Second Street to a report of a person being shot. Upon arrival Officers found one individual lying in the street with multiple gunshots, with a wound in the forearm and chest area. EMT personnel made the decision to airlift the suspect for treatment in Atlanta. Emory Air Flight based at the Griffin Spalding Airport was called to the scene. A landing area was established for the Helicopter nearby. The victim was able to talk with EMT personnel as he was being prepped for Airlift. The incident is still under investigation and more information is expected to be released later by the Griffin Police Department.
