A 21-year-old man was seriously injured in an accident at Jordan Lumber here overnight Monday. Details are sketchy but initial reports indicated the man did not follow proper safety procedures and fell into a machine. Metal in his work boots set off a metal detector that shut down the machine but not before his arm was severed. Other employees came to his aid, EMTs responded quickly and the injured man was transported to a Macon trauma center where he is recovering but faces a long road of additional surgeries and treatment. ”First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with our employee. We are fully cooperating with multiple entities with their investigations of the incident. We thank our employees and local emergency personnel for their response and care,” Jordan’s Georgia operations manager said Thursday morning. More to follow…
