Man suffers stab wound at Barnesville apartment complex; lookout issued

UPDATE (5:13 p.m. Sunday): The suspect LaDerrickus Stewart is in custody.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified by Chief Belinda Penamon as Kandavious Greene. He is in stable condition.

Barnesville police and other first responders were dispatched to 135 Cameron Circle in the South Oak Apartment complex Sunday morning where a male victim suffered a stab wound to the left lower chest area.

EMTs wanted to lifeflight the victim but air life dispatch declined the call so he was taken to the trauma unit at Atrium Health in Macon by ambulance.

The initial dispatch call went out at 8:24 a.m.

There was no immediate word on a suspect.

LaDerrickus Stewart (above) is wanted in connection with Sunday morning’s knife attack. If you have information regarding his whereabouts call police.

UPDATE: A lookout has been issued for LaDerrickus Stewart, a black male about 23 years old, in connection with this case. He was last seen wearing dark pants, a dark shirt and some sort of bonnet or do-rag. He left the scene in a silver SUV. The make and model of the SUV are unknown.
