Man who punched officer to serve four years in prison

A 21-year-old Forsyth man was sentenced to five years with four years to serve in prison Oct. 10 by Judge Tommy Wilson for punching a female BPD officer in the face during a Jan. 18 melee at the local Waffle House. Donterius Keyon Frye will serve four years concurrent to his current sentence which stems from a parole violation in Monroe County. He is also banned from all Waffle Houses in the circuit and subject to a search and specimen clause. Frye punched officer Maria Gebelein in the face in the early morning hours after a rap concert at a local club. He was on the run for five weeks before being arrested in a Forsyth housing project by Monroe authorities. His sentencing came after he entered a guilty plea in Lamar superior court.
