Mrs. Martha Rebecca Spraggins Moreland, age 89, of Thomaston passed away peacefully from this world on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 to arrive at her new home in heaven and greet a joyous reunion with her many loved ones that had gone on before her.Mrs Moreland was born February 6, 1926 in Meriwether County to the late Edd and Ester Ruth Massengale Spraggins. She worked for many years at Playtex manufacturing company in Manchester and retired from Nabisco Foods in Woodbury. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Woodbury Baptist Church for many years and attended First Assembly of God of Thomaston for many years after moving to Thomaston in 1994. She lived her faith and showed her love and devotion to God through her deeds and her willingness to always help others. She leaves her family with a legacy of love and life lessons that will never be forgotten. Her kind and loving nature touched numerous lives and she will be remembered fondly to all of those who knew her as ‘Mrs. Martha’ and ‘Nannie’. Mrs. Moreland was a true example of the miracles of God as she was a 44 year breast cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. John Herbert Moreland, a son, Mr. James McInvale, a grandson, Mr. Brant Gramling and six of her eight brothers and sisters.She is survived by her son Bobby Ray (Pearl) McInvale of Woodbury, GA; daughters, Martha Ann McInvale (James) Hudson, of Fitzgerald and Ruth Moreland Starnes-Johnson of Thomaston; sister, Mrs. Betty Brown of Manchester and brother Eddie Spraggins of Augusta; grandchildren, Buffy McInvale (Tony) Lee, Lisa Hudson (Todd) McCard, Donna McInvale (Kenny) Milner, Sandra Starnes (Shane) Bridges, Becky Hudson (Craig) Tarkenton, Chet (Christina) Lawhorn, Cody (Raymond) Starnes, John (Jennifer) Johnson, Bryan McInvale and Chris McInvale; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 from the Woodbury Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hugh Smith, Sr. and Dr. Ron Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Chapel Church Cemetery in Woodbury.
