Mary Jo Mack Hardaway was born Dec. 27, 1936 in Lamar County. She was the only child of Rosa Bell Blackmon Weaver and the daughter of the late Joseph Mack. She received her education at the Barnesville Industrial School and retired from Carter’s Mill.She accepted Christ at an early age and joined East Mount Sinai in Lamar County.Mary Jo loved her family and close friends. At an early age she married the love of her life Daniel Hardaway and was devoted to him until his death. From this union of 60 years came four handsome sons who were her pride and joy, Jerome (deceased) Billy Joe and Kenneth Hardaway of Barnesville, Rickey (deceased) (Rolanda McPhail) Hardaway of Griffin and two granddaughters – her shining stars – Rickell and Robyn Hardaway of Griffin. Mary Jo will be greatly missed by her brothers, Clarence Mack of Barnesville, Melvin Mack of Decatur, Dwight (Norma) Mack of Miami; close cousin, Harry (Georgia) Williams of Warner Robins and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bentley & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
