McDonough man killed in Blount area crash

A McDonough man was killed in a one vehicle accident today, May 21, 2013 around 1:30 a.m. A 1999 Chevy Silverado truck driven by Jonathan Elijah Watson, 46, crashed on Hwy. 42 near Blount Road in Monroe County after driving off the roadway and overcorrecting. The truck overturned partially ejecting Michael Wayne Lindler, 56, out of the passenger side window. Watson sustained some injuries and was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment. Lindler was killed in the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene by the coroner. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt. Watson is being charged with DUI, no seatbelt and vehicular homicide. He is still being treated for his injuries at the hospital. Lindler’s body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy. The investigation into this case continues. -Allison Selman-Willis, MCSO
