The Lamar County education committee will host a Meet and Greet Monday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. at the board of education building on Victory Lane. All parents and citizens interested in knowing more about the community education committee are invited to attend. There will be an informal time of socializing, some light refreshments, and a very brief program about midway through the one hour event. ’The committee has been unbelievably diligent but I believe 99% of our community isn’t aware of the opportunities the committee has brought before us,’ said superintendent Dr. Bill Truby, also a committee member. ‘Here’s a chance to find out more about the CEC and the many events that have been and will be available to our parents and students.
