Megan Carter was one of 10 players to sign a letter of intent to play softball at Gordon College in ceremonies held Friday. More than 100 people were in attendance. Carter is a senior at Lamar County High School and will catch and play first base. The new team members and their guests were welcomed by Coach Ally Hattermann who reminded the new Lady Highlanders that their grade point averages are as important, if not more important, than their batting averages. Last year’s team had a combined 3.46 GPA and went 9-2 for the season.
