The Chamber of Commerce board of directors has announced Melissa Lee’s departure as President & CEo effective December 2, 2022. Since 2018, Melissa has played a critical role in the direction of the organization, and while we will miss her, we wish her the best of luck with her new endeavor at the Forsyth-Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
We want to thank her for the four years of dedicated service she gave our organization and for her willingness to assist in the transition to guarantee that it is seamless.
Executive assistant, Bianca Romero, has been named interim President & CEO effective November 28, 2022.

In the coming weeks, the chamber will be conducting a process for identifying the next CEO. Maintaining a stable and effective organization is a priority. Updates will be provided about the progress and ask for continued support during this transition.
The announcement was made on November 8, 2022 at the Board of Directors annual strategic planning meeting. The current board and the newly elected board of 2023 were both in attendance and a transition plan was incorporated into the proposed Program of Works. Other discussion held at this meeting included a review of the organizations mission and values, improving the value of membership, continued trajectory of growth and stability, and review of the 2023 proposed budget. The chair of the board, Raychel Allen, addressed the board for a 2022 Year in Review. At a board meeting directly following strategic planning the following officers for 2023 were approved: Courtney Claxton, Chair of the Board (Antiques on Atlanta), Matt Preston, Vice Chair (Tailgaters/Preston Restaurant Group), and Travis Graham, Treasurer (United Bank).
