Mike Ruffin to keynote Senior Celebration

Barnesville native and Lamar County High School graduate Michael Ruffin, son of the late Champ and Sara Ruffin, will be the keynote speaker at the 10:30 a.m. worship service during the Senior Celebration on Tuesday, May 7 at First Baptist Church in Forsyth The schedule is: 9:30 a.m. Registration 10:30 a.m. Worship 11:45 a.m. Lunch 12:30 p.m. Afternoon Entertainment 1:30 p.m. Dismiss Ruffin has served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald since 2008. Prior to that he served churches in Adel and Augusta and was a professor of religion at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Among his publications are Sunday School lessons for Smyth & Helwys and his most recent book, Prayer 365, published in 2012 by Nurturing Faith. His sermons can be read on his blog This Preaching Thing and his writings on various topics on his blog On the Jericho Road. The afternoon entertainment will be BATiK. BATiK is a vocal quartet comprised of Bob Fountain, Alan Ralph, Tullye Ralph, and Kelli Gilstrap. Bob is a retired doctor; Alan is a retired art consultant and picture framer; Kelli has a voice degree in music and teaches private piano and voice lessons; and Tullye is a retired English and music teacher, who also teaches private piano lessons.
