A bridge in the city limits of Milner, with Old 41 Highway running under it, was checked out by Department of Transportation engineers after a chunk of concrete fell to the road below on Nov. 19. Milner’s city administrator Harold Wilson said although there was no vehicle under the bridge at the time, a driver traveling toward the bridge saw the concrete fall and hit the side of the road and alerted law enforcement officials. ’We called DOT and they came and looked and made it a one lane road overnight,’ said Wilson. ‘The next day a DOT crew showed up and they worked on it for two days. They replaced the spot and found out the concrete that fell was a patch from where it had fallen before about 15 years ago. They inspected the rest of the bridge for any other issues and said it was okay.’
