The Milner Friends of the Library have earned $1,867.65 in the last three weeks toward the matching funds goal needed to receive the $750,000 state grant for the building. Board chairman George Weldon said the current amount came from the musical, a donor letter campaign, memorial gifts for Kathleen Weldon Pinckney and the bookstore. ’We now have $204,495 in the matching fund and need only $15,505 for our minimum,’ Weldon said. The next meeting of the library friends is Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. at Milner Methodist Church. Anyone interested in the library effort is invited.
