Milner police department gets $10,000 grant

The Milner police department has been awarded a public safety partnership grant totaling $10,000 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in Atlanta. The incentive grant, which will last through September of this year, is designed for smaller law enforcement agencies that have partnered with GOHS and excelled in taking part in highway safety initiatives and making their communities safe during the previous year. ’The Milner police department has been and will continue to be an active member of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety program in the middle Georgia area,’ said chief Jake Sutton. The funds allocated will be used to upgrade computer and communication needs. ”The goal of the grant is to reward agencies for their proactive approach to traffic safety and provide them with the necessary tools to effectively continue their lifesaving efforts,’ said Harris Blackwood, GOHS director. For information on the award, contact chief Sutton at 770-358-1640.
