Milton Allison ‘Al’ Brown

Milton Allison ‘Al’ Brown of Culloden passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Mr. Brown, the son of the late George Zachary and Mattie Sue Pierson Brown was born November 6, 1918, in Culloden, Georgia. His wife, Rebecca (Becky) Brown and his sisters, Mae Arliss Brown, Sue B. McSwain and Virginia Noll preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer, retired president of Macon Machine Shop and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II and the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Brown was a Mason with Pinta Lodge # 88 in Barnesville, a Shriner and a member of the American Legion. He was a member and deacon of Sharon Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Larry (Jan) Brown of Macon, Dr. Benjamin (Faye) Brown of Thomaston and Zach (Rose) Brown of Culloden; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Sharon Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Pierson Family Cemetery. Elder William Bishop, Elder D. Hagen and Elder Steve Flowers will officiate. The family will greet friends at 2 p.m., the day of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Sharon Primitive Baptist Church, 5827 Hwy. 83 South, Culloden, Ga. 31016.
