A 15-year-old girl for whom an Amber Alert was issued Monday night has been found safe and the man she was with has been arrested.Two releases from Allison Selman-Willis of the MCSO follow:Monroe County teen Savannah Pierce has been located by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office tonight after a search that began around 8:30 p.m. yesterday. Bartow County deputies saw George’s pickup truck, stopped the vehicle and took George into custody. Savannah was picked up by her father and is being returned to Monroe County and George will be transported to the Monroe County Jail. Both will be questioned regarding the incident. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing an investigation into this incident.The original press release is reprinted below: The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, has issued an Amber Alert for 15-year-old Savannah Pierce. Savannah is believed to have gone missing late yesterday evening, Feb. 27, 2012 from North Wesleyan Drive in Monroe County and is believed to be with a 19-year-old Acworth man named Jerry Bart Marverick George. According to Savannah’s grandparents, Savannah has been communicating with George via Facebook and her grandfather told Sheriff’s Office investigators that he saw a truck matching the description of George’s parked behind a nearby church around the time Savannah went missing. MCSO investigators have been able to track Savannah and George using cell phone towers and believe the teens are in Acworth. Local authorities are assisting in the investigation and search for Savannah. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 478-994-7043.The vehicle driven by George is a 2011 GMC Sierra C-1500 Series pickup truck, black in color with Georgia tag BXQ 8253. Savannah was last seen around 8:30 p.m. on 2/27/2012 wearing blue jeans, white ruffled shirt and gray pullover sweater. She is 5 ft. 5 in., 130 lbs. with brown hair. George is around 6 ft. tall and weighs around 175 lbs.
