A mobile home fire on Shadowmore Drive in western Lamar County September 1 killed one person. The victim remains unidentified. Firefighters from both Pike and Lamar counties battled the blaze which left the mobile home totally destroyed. Tax records indicate the mobile home was owned by Jimmy E. Payne and Robert A. Payne.
