Moderate turnout, addressing issues reported

Turnout at Lamar County polling places today has been moderate thus far today and there have been multiple issues with voters on the rolls with the wrong address and at least one longtime voter who was not in the system at all. In addition, elections supervisor Anita Reid reported that Joe Buice has met all signature requirements and has qualified to run for sheriff as an Independent candidate in November. One voter described the experience as a “cluster…’ I didn’t even get to vote in my commission race because my address was incorrect.” If you had voting issues, let us know via e-mail or by using the commenting section. It is unknown whether or not these issues will delay the vote tabulation tonight. barnesville.com will provide realtime election results from the courthouse to subscribers only.
