Monroe sheriff working murder case

A Macon man was shot and killed in south Monroe County Tuesday. The full release from Allison Selman-Willis of the Monroe S.O. follows: A Macon man was found shot and killed in south Monroe County today, January 31, 2011 after a brief missing persons investigation. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office received a missing persons report over the weekend from Trevorius Thomas’s family and began investigating the case. The investigation led them to two suspects and eventually to Thomas’s body in an abandoned house on Zebulon Road in Monroe County. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office turned the case over the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office after learning that Thomas was killed just over the county line. The suspects are Stephen Lober, age 20, from Lizella and Robert Kyle Doughtery, age 21, from Macon. They are both being charged with murder and robbery. There are no mug shots available for the suspects at this time. Thomas’s body has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for autopsy. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into this case. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
