One of three attorneys representing the mother of one of two men struck and killed by a BPD cruiser here May 16, 2014 is attempting to get access to sealed records in the case of the officer involved.Attorney Charles D. Graham will go before Judge Bill Fears in Lamar superior court Thursday with a petition to unseal the testimony given by officer Terry Belvin to the December term grand jury here.Graham represents Danita Taylor, mother of Justen Shanard Sullivan. Sullivan was struck and killed along with Quenton Byrd, 21, at 1 a.m. on Veterans Parkway. Sullivan died on his 25th birthday.Taylor has filed suit against the city of Barnesville seeking over $15 million in damages with regard to her son’s death.Belvin was not named in Taylor’s suit. The grand jury opted not to indict him. He voluntarily gave up his position of the force and his POST certification and can never work in law enforcement again.Graham is seeking the testimony to bolster evidence in the civil action against the city.
