Moxon facing more charges?

There multiple reports that Griffin police officer Chad Moxon faces additional criminal charges stemming from June 12 domestic dispute in which he was shot. According to reports, Moxon was visiting a female at a residence located at 4768 Old Atlanta Road in Griffin when another man arrived. Moxon was shot in the fracas that followed. The shooter, 30-year-old Richard Bivens of Locust Grove, was charged with battery. Moxon reportedly was jailed last week. According to one person close to the investigation, he has been charged with battery, false report of a crime and false statements and writings. Spalding sheriff Wendell Beam and his public information officer Tony Ranieri have been quiet on the matter, promising only that a release would be forthcoming September 24. That release had not been received as of 1 p.m.
