County administrator Wayne Patterson reported Friday afternoon that fire/EMS bills arriving in the mail of Lamar County property owners contain multiple errors. Harris, the firm that did the billing, is taking responsibility for the mistakes. There are about 9400 bills arriving in homes today and over the weekend. ”It’s a big mess. A lot of people are coming in to pay the bills and we are correcting them in the office. People can come by the county commission office and we will do the corrections or they can wait about a week and a corrected bill will arrive in the mail,” Patterson said.
