By Ken K. Green Multiple sports events and various local venues are on the schedule today. The Lamar County High School track teams host Peach County and Spalding in a tri-team meet at Trojan Field today. Events get underway at 4:30 p.m. The Diamond Trojans host Manchester in a pivotal Region 5AA baseball game at Aldora Field tonight at six o’clock. Lamar is 5-5 for the season and 3-2 in region play while the Blue Devils are 6-4 overall and 4-2 in 5AA. Currently Manchester holds the third spot in the region while Lamar is one half game back in fourth. Pike County and Callaway are one and two. Baseball action at Gordon College today, as well, as the Highlanders host Piedmont College in a non-conference doubleheader. The first game starts at 4 p.m. at the Highlander Athletic Complex. Gordon is coming off of a three game weekend sweep of Region XVII foe Darton.
