With Lamar County near broke and vast numbers of the property owners who pay all its expenses in near the same boat, murder suspect Jennifer Clark wants them to pony up cash to hire an investigator for her defense. A hearing on the request, made through Clark’s public defender Susan Miller, will be heard August 12 in Lamar superior court. Judge Bill Fears will preside. Clark is charged with beating her estranged husband, to death with a metal baseball bat.
