Nancy Thrash takes oath of office

District four commissioner-elect Nancy Thrash took her oath of office Saturday, December 20 in a courthouse ceremony. Administering the oath was probate judge Kathy Martin. Holding the family Bible upon which Thrash took the oath was her husband, Jerome. Dr. Bennie Tate, Thrash’s minister at Rock Springs Church, gave the invocation. The guest speaker was NFL Hall of Famer Billy Shaw who is Thrash’s cousin. ”I promise to do my very best,” Thrash said of her plans for her new position. She pledged to her fellow commissioners to be part of a special, successful team. After the ceremony, a reception was held in the commission meeting room.
