Zachry Holdings, the fine Texas folks who are building the Piedmont Green Power plant here, are bringing their NASCAR truck series Tundra to the BBQ & Blues festival here later this month. The truck, driven by David Spriggs, will be on display as will the hauler which will be open for tours. Peterbilt will also have a truck display and a BBQ team in the competition. Other BBQ & Blues notes from chairman T.J. Imberger: ’¢ The golf cart decorating contest will be expanded and improved on Thursday, April 26. The them is “Getting Piggy With It”. Entries will bej judged at the festival kickoff event, the After Hours to be hosted by United Bank from 5-7 p.m. ’¢ Friday will feature the cooking competitions local BBQ wizards can enter. Categories are barbecue sauce, wings, chili, stew and desert. The sauce contest winner will receive a Kommodo Joe Grill by Southern Patio.
