As signs pop up all around Barnesville’s ward five warning criminals they are being observed, a Neighborhood Watch kickoff community meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Barnesville Civic Center. The program, led by Sgt. Stead Walker of the Lamar County sheriff’s office, has already established a group in ward 5. It aims to organize citizens all over the county to keep an eye on their neighborhoods, looking for suspicious people in an effort to reduce crime.
