Mr. Neil Eugene Hammock, age 72, of Thomaston, died May 1, at The Medical Center of Central Ga. Mr. Hammock was born Dec. 5, 1939, in Talladega, Ala., to the late James and Lillian Hammock. He was formerly employed with B.F. Goodrich Mills where he worked in the card room for 20 years. Mr. Hammock was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in Korea. Survivors include his sons, Mr. Maurice and Kelly Hammock, of Smiths Station, Ala., and Mr. Bryan and Lynn Hammock, of Smiths Station, Ala.; brothers, Mr. Joe and Betty Hammock of Thomaston, Mr. Lloyd and Wanda Hammock of Barnesville, Ga., and Mr. Gary Hammock of Arizona; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial followed in Crystal Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Flint RiverKeeper at P.O. Box 468 Albany, Ga. 31702. Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
