Mrs. Nell Smith Adams, 81, of Thomaston, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Adams will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at 11 a.m., in Upson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Sid Chapman officiating. Mrs. Adams was a native of Lamar County, a daughter of the late Nathan and Shelly Smith. She was formerly employed by the William Carter Company and was later a pink lady with the Upson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She had also volunteered at Riverside Health and Rehab. Mrs. Adams was a member of Hightower/Silvertown United Methodist Church. Mrs. Adams is survived by her grandson, Shane (Dawn ) Adams; and her step-son, Gary (Stacey) Adams, both of Thomaston; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William A. Blankenship and Owen J. Adams; her children, Jeff Blankenship and Pamela Marie Satterfield; and her five siblings and their spouses. The family of Mrs. Adams will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
