Dr. Max Burns, who will assume the presidency of Gordon College January 1, 2012, was on campus Wednesday.Burns grew up on a farm in Screven County. His son is the fourth generation Burns to live on and work the farm.”My mother died when I was young. My father drove a bread truck. I was fortunate to get a good education and have had wonderful opportunities as a result. That is why we are here, why Gordon is here, to help young people be successful,” Burns told The Herald-Gazette.
