No arrests yet in chemical threat

There have been no arrests in connection with the receipt of two threatening letters at The Herald Gazette July 18 and 19. The first of the two contained a white powder later determined to be baking soda and shut down the Greenwood Street area for hours. Capt. Craig Cooper of the Barnesville Police Department reported the evidence collected in the cases is still being tested at an FBI lab and no information regarding possible arrests has been forthcoming from federal authorities.
