‘No criminal activity’ at Heritage Inn, exec says

By Walter Geiger In an effort to quell rampant rumors to the contrary, an executive with the firm that runs Barnesville’s Heritage Inn nursing center reported Friday recent dismissals there had nothing to do with criminal activity. Heritage Inn’s administrator and top information technology employee were recently terminated and escorted from the building, triggering an avalanche of unfounded rumors of missing funds and the like. Lynne Palmer King, vice president of community relations for Ethica Health & Retirement Communities, says the rumors are just that – rumors. ”This came about as a result of an internal investigation. There was no criminal activity involved at all. From time to time, we do these assessments regarding operational management and services. We felt like it was time for a new administration,” King said. Both Lamar sheriff Brad White and BPD investigator Al Moltrum reported they, likewise, had no knowledge of any criminal acts involving the previous Heritage Inn administration. ”Our patients and families are our main focus. Everything is really good at our Barnesville center right now,” King concluded.
