Miraculously, there were no serious injuries Thursday when an eastbound tractor trailer hit a westbound Honda on Hwy. 36 East then careened down a steep embankment and into the creek bed.
First responders were checking on indications that fuel or some other liquid was seeping from the truck and into the creek which feeds into High Falls Lake.
Traffic was snarled in the area for a lengthy period after the crash which happened at about 1 p.m.
