Noel Anthony Peters

Mr. Noel Anthony “Rusty” Peters, age 65 of Clayton, N.C., entered into rest Dec. 14, 2013.Mr. Peters was born in Forsyth, Ga., on Sept. 28, 1948 to the late Douglas Noel “Buck” Peters and the late Joyce Sanders Peters. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Noel Peters. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Peters served in Vietnam. He was also an avid horseman and enjoyed trail rides.Survivors include his wife, Lynne Burckner Peters; daughters, Christine and Jonathan Herauf of Lexington, S.C., and Jennifer and Richard Culler of Augusta, Ga.; son, Chance Peters and his wife Amber of Clayton, N.C.; and grandchildren, Heather Funston, Hunter Thurmond and Rylan Peters. He is also survived by his sisters, Saralyn Peters Fountain of Milner, Ga., Jayne Carey Peters Smith of Barnesville, Ga., and Carla Peters Duncan of Monroe, Ga.Funeral services for Mr. Peters will be conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Griffin, Ga. Internment will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Barnesville, Ga. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home in Griffin, Ga.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TheWoundedWarriorsProject.org.
